In January 2020, I attended my friends birthday party. It was such a fun time catching up with everyone; until a few days later… I got sick. REALLY sick. A mystery virus brought on a dangerously high fever & other flu like symptoms. My parents rushed me to the doctor not once, but three times in one week as I battled the virus. We had never experienced a cold this relentless. My forehead swelled so badly that my eyes were almost swollen shut and there were welts across my body. It is still hard to put into words how truly scared I was at the time. (Reference photo below)
