Hope for Hives

It was incredibly frustrating trying to find the why behind what was happening to me. The flu virus I experienced seemed to have inflamed my entire body and there was no real pattern behind the madness. Antihistamines would bring relief for a short time, but then I would also have flares while taking my medicine regularly. My journey to find answers started with my pediatrician and then came ALL the specialists. My doctor provided referrals to different allergists & immunologists and we waited what felt like forever at the time. Thankfully I’m in an area with some of the best doctors in the entire world. I’m so very grateful and have tried my best to remain positive & appreciative that I have access to such wonderful medical care; regardless of the long wait times. I often felt like I was on repeat when sharing my same story over & over again, to only hear “hives can be caused by many things”. The fact is, they are correct. That’s what makes Chronic Urticaria so annoying (and sometimes scary). It can be completely spontaneous, but with the help of medical professionals & the right medicine it can be much more manageable.
